Will you accept the Challenge?
A "fresh" reading of these documents will hopefully have a positive and measurable impact on the future of our Country. Some of the reasons we should read the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States and Bill of rights are listed below:
The Liberty Bell Challenge is a non-partison, non-political two year program designed to increase awareness of the documents that provided the framework for making the United States of America the greatest Nation in the world. There is absolutely NO COST or obligation to participate in The Liberty Bell Challenge.
It's our duty as US Citizens...
to read these important documents, and to become familiar with why and how they were written.
We will be better informed...
about how our government operates, and remind us of the reasons our great country was originally established.
We will exercise better judgment...
when it comes to casting our vote, so that our government will truly be "of the people, by the people and for the people."
Greater Patriotism and National Pride...
by all Citizens of the United States will be experienced after reading these great documents, causing more of us to vote in local, state and federal elections.
Hold Congress more accountable...
to the principles and precepts found in these great documents - If we set the example and read them, shouldn't they?
To support our troops...
who risk their lives every day to protect and defend the values and precepts found in these important documents. Show them you care by taking The Liberty Bell Challenge and dedicating it to a soldier or sailor.
Do it for your great-grandchildren...
It's up to us to preserve and protect the liberties and freedoms for future generations to come. I don't know about you, but I want my great-grandchildren to enjoy the same privileges that I do today, and The Liberty Bell Challenge is one way I can help make that happen.
What is The Liberty Bell Challenge?
The Liberty Bell Challenge
is for every American to read the
Declaration of Independence, the
Constitution of the United States, and the Bill of Rights before the
2012 Presidential Election
"If we forget or ignore the values and precepts found in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United State and the Bill of Rights, we risk losing the very liberties and freedoms our founding fathers fought and died for to make possible. The Liberty Bell Challenge is your chance to help protect these values and precepts, by becoming better informed about them."
The video shown above is a funny reminder of just how little people actually know about the Constitution of the United States, not to mention the Declaration of Independence and the Amendments to the Constitution, which we refer to as the Bill of Rights.
"Each of us should take time to read, study, ponder and discuss the Constitution. It is not only a good idea; it helps meet an obligation to ourselves, our children and future generations. We owe it to the Founders who risked their lives, fortunes and sacred honor for our freedom and to those brave men and women who risk their lives to protect and defend the Constitution that guarantees the freedoms that we enjoy."
